Apprenticeship Program at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp
back to the top
Summary:
The Covenant Harbor Apprentice Ministry Program (CHAMP) focuses on Christ-like character and leadership development.
Details:
The experience takes place at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp. Covenant Harbor has 54 beautiful wooded acres on Geneva Lake in Southeastern Wisconsin. A majority of the CHAMP responsibilities are with the Snake Road Adventure Center programs facilitating ropes course, climbing tower and outdoor education programs. As a CHAMP you may also help in other camp departments including Guest Relations, Facilities, Food Service and Youth Ministry. The "program" and "mentoring & discipling" aspects of the experience will be both intentional (set, regular times of individual and group interaction) and informal ("normal" day to day interactions and situations). As an Apprentice you will receive room, board and a weekly salary. You will also have specific structure given to your experience that enhances your learning, exploring and reflection. This will help you seek and discern what the Lord’s will is for your life and mature as a person and disciple of Christ. The experience is designed for a nine to 12 month commitment. Shorter times are possible, but not the ideal. Please contact us for more information and an application. The experience is an opportunity for intentional growth in a fun, challenging and encouraging environment. If you feel uncertain about what your next step in life should be or want to gain experience, training and spiritual guidance, this could be for you. Our role is providing opportunities, yours is engaging the opportunities.

Cafe 1040 Inc
Summary:
Cafe 1040 is based on the premise that God is raising up a generation of globally minded students with an amazing passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to train and equip a part of this generation to fulfill its calling...to take the gospel to the unreached world. The focus of our ministry is to train college students to be missionaries to the unreached world. We believe that the best way to accomplish this is by taking them inside the unreached world for training. We will conduct this training over one 12-week semester in North Africa. While in Arabia, students will take classes in language, history and culture, technology, and Islam, allowing them to see and experience the culture first-hand. This classroom training will be accompanied by afternoons spent in conffe houses with local college students and excursions into different areas of North Africa, exposing students to the peoples of regions of the countries that they are learning about. The ultimate goal is to allow students to prove to themselves that they have the ability to follow God's calling...wherever it may be. We are currently looking for adventurous and godly people (especially those with overseas experience) to fill two different postions, Student Mentor & Student Coordinator. For a full description of these roles or if you are interested...please contact us through our website or email address.

Upward Soccer Program - Calvary Community Church
back to the top
Summary:
Summer Soccer Program Directors
Details:
Dear MKs, I am excited to offer you an opportunity to spend your summer reaching kids for Christ through our Upward Soccer Ministry, and enjoy the splendour of southeastern Wisconsin at the same time. My church with great anticipation is looking forward to our second year of Upward Soccer. Our summer Upward Soccer ministry is an eight week long (planned to be June 26th through August 16th) soccer league that is a ministry to reach first through fourth graders for Christ, as well as teach them soccer skills. Your role would be as a coach during the practices and a referee during the games. The teams will have a one hour practice on Tuesday mornings at 9 am and games on Thursday mornings at 9 am. Another part of your responsibility would be to assist at times with team devotions, for which there will be provided materials each week during practice. This ministry would involve less than ten hours a week of service and will be unpaid, but we can offer several things. We can offer living accommodations for the summer with a family from our church. Second, if you desire summer employment, I can assist you in that endeavour. We can also offer at least a ten hour a week internship with some of our staff (sorry, also unpaid) – opportunities are available with our executive pastor, missions and small groups pastor, worship arts pastor, youth pastor, and children’s pastor (that’s me). Lastly, we have a strong fun loving college and career group at church that you could be a part of. Perry-David Van Dillen, a college student at Calvin College and an MK from the Netherlands served with us last summer. He has already offered to come back this summer and has this to say about spending last summer with us, “It’s a lot of fun and is a great way to serve the Lord. The kids really look up to you and you can make a great impact on their lives!” We are seeking to have 2 to 4 MKs serving with us this summer. If you are interested or have any questions please contact me by phone or e-mail at your earliest convenience. If you want more info on Upward, go to www.upward.org. I look forward to hearing from you. Harold Edington
